On April 6, the conference "MPSEI Chair: Lessons Learned from the University-Business Partnership" was held, led by Dr. Tomás San Feliú, a professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
Given the current importance of collaboration between the academic world and entities in the private sector, it is necessary to explore different models of cooperation. In this regard, University-Business Chairs have been one of the mechanisms adopted to sustain this relationship. In the case of the MPSEI Chair, it was established in 2006 to promote and disseminate process improvement in Spanish companies. The Chair’s work has focused on conducting research stemming from companies’ needs, enabling them to introduce innovations that would have been very difficult to implement otherwise. The resulting synergy has provided the chair with the support needed to develop and carry out projects in both the business and academic spheres.
At the conference, the speaker presented the experiences gained to date and the latest projects they have undertaken.
Tomás San Feliú holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and serves as a professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His current research interests include project management and risk management.
