On Monday, June 13, the seminar "Experimental Software Engineering: Using Statistical Methods to Support the Planning and Execution of Experimental Studies" took place in the ORT Centro Seminar Room. It was led by Dr. Guilherme Travassos, Professor of Software Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The event was organized as part of the Master’s in Research Engineering program and was aimed at researchers in the field of experimentation.

The seminar aimed to analyze the principles of experimentation in software engineering, present the central concepts, and illustrate how statistical methods can be used to study the information collected through experimentation.

Travassos earned his Ph.D. at COPPE at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro ( UFRJ). He conductedpostdoctoral studies at the Experimental Software Engineering Group at the University of Maryland. He currently directs COPPE/UFRJ and is a CNPq-1D Researcher at the Brazilian Research Council.
