Lecture: “The Jewish Calendar: Tradition and Evolution of a Civilization. Passover”

On March 27, 2012, ORT Pocitos hosted a lecture titled “The Jewish Calendar: Tradition and Evolution of a Civilization. Passover,” presented by Rafael Winter, a professor in the Jewish Studies Department at EHIU-IAHU School and vice president of the Montevideo Holocaust Memorial Center.

The lecture focused on the holiday of Passover, its many meanings for the Jewish people, and its original message. It was organized by the Department of Jewish Studies.

Prof. Winter holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Judaism from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with a specialization in Jewish Education for the Diaspora from the university’s Melton Center. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in History.
