Conference: "Investment Opportunities in Uruguay: The Logistics Sector"

On August 1, 2013, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted the conference “Investment Opportunities in Uruguay: The Logistics Sector” as part of the Public Policy Discussion Series organized by CAF—Development Bank of Latin America—and Universidad ORT Uruguay. The event was broadcast via videoconference to CAF’s headquarters in Caracas (Venezuela). 

Presentations were given by Ariel Cancio, an analyst with the Competitive Intelligence Department at Uruguay XXI; Daniel Carriquiry, president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Free Zones; Rafael Farromeque, director of Europraxis - ALG Consulting for the Andean Region; Mariana Ferreira, Competitive Intelligence Manager at Uruguay XXI; and Beatriz Tabacco, President of the National Logistics Institute

Daniel Carriquiry is President and Founding Partner of Costa Oriental. He is president and founding partner of Costa Logística - Modyler. He is president of Costa Oriental Paraguay.

Mr. Farromeque is an international consultant specializing in logistics and transportation for CAF, IDB (Inter-American Development Bank), and the World Bank.

Ms. Tabacco is national director of Planning and Logistics at the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works.
