October 31, 2013
Manuel Bravo, a student in the Bachelor’s program in Systems Engineering, along with Matías López, Santiago Rosa, and Christian Zurbrigg—students in the Software Analyst program at the CTC Center in Colonia—and Lucas Díaz, a student at Liceo Departamental No. 1 in Colonia, were the winners of the “IEEE SEK” (Standard Education Kits) category in the Latin American “XII LARC Latin American Robotics Competition.” The event took place from October 21 to 27, 2013, in Arequipa, Peru.

In September 2013, they won the SUMO.Uy Robotics Competition held by the School of Engineering at the University of the Republic, qualifying them to participate in this Latin American competition. The team has a long history of competing in robotics competitions, beginning with the RAES competitions organized by the School of Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
