In December 2014, the Department of History and Theory of Architecture at the School of Architecture published the third issue of *Anales de Investigación en Arquitectura*. This issue features works by renowned international architects as well as final theses by architecture graduates of the school.

Some of the topics covered include: the contributions of modern Chilean architecture to the development of the metropolis; the imagery of residential living in various lyrics of River Plate tango; modern space and its potentially reductionist functionalist character; affordable housing; and the influence of architecture on the creation of cities in science fiction films.

This issue includes articles by the following faculty members and graduates:

- “The Dark Metropolis. Architectural Influences in the Creation of Cities in Science Fiction Cinema” by Architect Ignacio Bonifacino, professor of Introduction to Contemporary Architecture and Regional Planning at the faculty, and Architect Carlos Brum Stewart, architecture graduate and director of Casa Mía.

- “The Hidden Cities” by Architect Emiliano Ruiz, professor of Approaches and Problems in Architecture and Regional Planning at the faculty.
