Projects recognized by the National Academy of Engineering

The AgroBeep Systems Engineering senior thesis project, created by Agustín Arena, Maximiliano Casal, and Gonzalo Gutiérrez, won first prize from the National Academy of Engineering in the “Undergraduate Thesis Projects in Computer Science” category. The awards ceremony took place on December 9, 2016, in the Delmira Agustini Hall at the Solís Theater.

Meanwhile, the project “Analytics Applied to the Care and Monitoring of Children Up to 3 Years of Age,” created by Federico Gómez, a student in the Bachelor’s Program in Systems, and Richard Caetano and Rodrigo Pesce, graduates of the Systems Engineering program, received an Honorable Mention in Computing. The work was carried out at the Information Systems Research Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Helena Garbarino, academic coordinator of the Bachelor’s in Systems, and Dr. Gerardo Matturro, research professor in the Department of Software Engineering.

In addition, the project “¡Tuya Héctor! Technical Skills Training System for Electronic Soccer Players,” carried out by Gustavo Aprá and José Ignacio Monetta, Telecommunications Engineering students, and Sebastián Bardacosta, a graduate of that program, received an Honorable Mention in Electronics. The advisor was Ismael Garrido, a Systems Architecture instructor at the school.
