The startup SimDesign was recognized as an “Innovative Company.” It develops communication tools based on virtual reality and simulation technology, designed to promote projects and products. The company was founded in late 2013 by Luis Calabria and Federico Márquez, graduates in Systems Engineering, along with Nicolás Bermúdez and Gabriel Lambach. It currently operates in Uruguay and Paraguay, developing content for brands such as Coca-Cola, Salus, Unilever, and Blue Cross & Blue Shield.
For its part, IDATHA was recognized as the “Best Startup of 2016.” The startup, founded in 2014, is working to position itself as a leader in Latin America in data analysis and processing in key areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. Its founders are Mauricio Clausen, a student in the Master’s program in Technology Business Management – ICT, and Daniel Callejas, Eduardo García, Sebastián García, and Benjamín Machín, graduates of the Computer Engineering program at the University of the Republic.
