The startup Qoollet, founded by Andrés Levin and Ignacio Valle, both graduates of the Systems Engineering program, received a special mention in the EmprendO 2016 competition, an event organized by El Observador that recognizes the year’s most innovative startups. The awards ceremony took place on December 7, 2016.

It was recognized as one of ten finalist startups selected by the newspaper’s Café&Negocios team based on featured articles published between November 2015 and November 2016.

The jury and the public voted among the finalists, taking into account the degree of innovation, their potential, and their impact.

Qoollet is an electronic wallet that will be able to begin operating as an electronic money issuer after obtaining approval from the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay (BROU).
