Public Lecture: "Networked Communities: Benefits and Challenges"

On June 17, the Institute of Education hosted a seminar titled “Networked Communities: Benefits and Challenges” at the ORT Centro Auditorium. The event was moderated by María Inés Vázquez, M.A., and featured presentations by Dr. Carme Armengol, Dr. Diego Castro, and Dr. Denise Vaillant. The purpose of the symposium is to present and analyze various national and international educational communities that have successfully created and consolidated networks with the support of technological platforms.

María Inés Vázquez is a Ph.D. candidate in Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Research, with a focus on Educational Research, from the CIEP (Center for Pedagogical Research and Experimentation) – IDRC (International Development Research Center), Canada . She is Head of the Department of Educational Planning Research at the Council for Secondary Education; a professor in the Master’s program in Society and Institutions at the National University of San Luis, Argentina; and Academic Coordinator of the Master’s program in Educational Management at ORT University.

Carme Armengol holds a Ph.D. in Education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences. She is a tenured professor in the Area of Didactics and Educational Organization within the Department of Applied Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She serves on the editorial board of several specialized journals on educational management. 

Diego Castro holds a PhD in Educational Sciences; a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Development; and is a social educator and pedagogue. He is a professor in the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has served as Director of educational projects at the municipal level and collaborates with various institutions in Spain and Latin America.

Denise Vaillant holds a PhD in Education from the University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada; a Master’s degree in Planning and Management from the University of Geneva, Switzerland; and is a specialist in the planning and management of educational systems and in teacher training. She serves as a consultant for various national and international organizations in her areas of expertise. She is a member of the Committee of the World Association for Comparative Education. She is the Coordinator of the Program on Teacher Professional Development in Latin America, PREAL - ORT. Member of the Committee of the World Association for Comparative Education. Professor of Educational Policy at Alberto Hurtado University, Chile. Professor of Educational Policy at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences at ORT University.
