November 21, 2008
On November 25, the lecture "Entrepreneurial Leadership: People, the Primary Source of Inspiration" was held in the Auditorium of the School of Administration and Social Sciences. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Eugenia Bieto, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at ESADE Business School in Spain, whose mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge about entrepreneurship. The event was organized by the faculty’s School of Graduate and Executive Studies as part of the 20th anniversary of the Center for Executive Education.

Dr. Bieto has served as deputy director of CIDEM (Center for Innovation and Business Development, Spain) for territorial balance policies and has held various positions at IMPIVA (Valencian Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Industry) focused on promoting business creation. She is a consultant for companies such as Syngenta, Solvay, and Arcelor on the implementation of corporate entrepreneurship projects. She has advised organizations such as the Congress of Deputies, the Senate, the Economic and Social Council, and CIDEM on measures to foster entrepreneurship.

Innovation is one of the key strategic pillars that provide companies and organizations with a sustainable competitive advantage. To achieve this, companies must be able to anticipate changes in the environment and identify new opportunities. There is no single path to achieving this: some companies create internal innovation departments capable of accelerating the process of developing new products, while others establish partnerships with research centers. But what companies that excel in innovation have in common is strong entrepreneurial leadership. This session will analyze the role of intrapreneurs and what is meant by entrepreneurial leadership.
