Professional Presentations by Industrial Design and Fashion Design Graduates

December 12, 2008
On December 18, the Palermo Art Hostel hosted the professional presentations of three graduates from the Bachelor’s programs in Industrial Design and Fashion Design. During the event, Rosario Bianchi, Gabriela Lebel, and Jimena Panzera shared their personal vision of design through a public exhibition and presentation.

"Design serves as an excuse. Beyond having chosen a degree in Fashion Design, everything related to aesthetics and communication holds a particular interest for me. The synergy these disciplines create with our skills gives rise to new combinations through which we propose perspectives and ways of seeing. Personal interests are inexorably reflected in the language of design. Thus, every object, product, or creation presents itself to us, speaks to us, and communicates."

Rosario Bianchi – Bachelor of Fashion Design

"Design is a discipline that constantly adapts to contemporary trends. In this way, it is inevitably defined by its own characteristics: dynamism, versatility, innovation, and creativity. As a designer, being methodical, persevering, and focusing on functional aspects as well as the versatility of products are key elements that have shaped my path in design. My work is an integral part of who I am today as a designer, of my personal and professional development. It clearly reflects my interest in enhancing products by giving them added value. Seeking to create and offer products that stand out and differentiate themselves from the rest on the market."

Gabriela Lebel – Bachelor of Industrial Design

"Every design process must be preceded by a phase of inspiration. I find it extremely useful and interesting to immerse myself in images, textures, colors, and objects—whether visual or three-dimensional—when beginning my design process. Surrounding myself with these elements helps me establish a broad spectrum of what is within my reach to develop a product. The client, user, budget, and available technologies will, at different stages of the process, be responsible for narrowing down the possibilities that will guide me along the ideal path toward a good design."

Jimena Panzera – Bachelor of Industrial Design
