Series of Interior Design Events

The School of Architecture organized a series of events on interior design. The series, which took place at the school and was free to the public, consisted of two lectures, two workshops, and a panel discussion aimed at students and individuals interested in pursuing a career in interior design.


Calendar of events:

Lecture: "Career Opportunities in Interior Design"
Monday, February 22
Speakers: Interior Designer Diego Aguilar, Interior Designer Carolina Cesio, and Interior Designer Paola Fossati, graduates of the Interior Design program.
Objectives: to share the experiences of Interior Design graduates; to discuss their strategies for entering the workforce; and to showcase their work.

Workshop "Furnishing an Ideal Space"
Tuesday, February 23
Instructor: Interior Designer Flavio Moran, a member of the studio Otroestudiomas, which specializes in architecture, design, and furnishing projects. Full-time professor of Furnishing and Design at the School of Architecture.
Objectives: to experience the process of bringing a furnishing project to life; to ensure participants enjoy a moment where they can furnish a space based on their own ideas; to allow creativity to flourish and materialize in a simple way, with the support of a professor specializing in the subject.

Workshop: "Thinking About Design, Experimenting on Paper"

Wednesday, February 24
Instructor: Prof . Angel Baldi, Professor of Visual Communication and Drawing at the Artigas Teachers’ Institute. Interior Designer. Full Professor of Drawing at the School of Architecture.
Objectives: to experience the process of bringing an idea to life on paper; to help participants enjoy a moment where they can give free rein to their creativity and translate those ideas into models in a very simple way.

Lecture: "The Professional Reality of the Interior Designer"

Speakers:
Int. Des. Eduardo Gimenez, Interior Designer and visual artist. Director of the Design Department at JB Equipamientos.
Int. Des. Andrés Buencirstiano, Interior Designer and visual artist. Former President of the Association of Professional Interior Decorators and Designers. Director of the Design Department at Walmer.
Arch. Jorge Migues, Project Architect in the Projects Department of the National Architecture Directorate, Ministry of Transportation and Public Works. President of the Association of Professional Interior Designers of Uruguay (ADDIP). Assistant Professor and Chair of Design at the School of Architecture.
Architect Osvaldo Mara, Co-founder of the Association of Professional Decorators and Designers (ADDIP).
Objectives: to share with participants the experiences of interior designers who have made significant contributions to the field.

Debate: "Feng Shui vs. Science"
Wednesday, March 3
Speakers:
Claudio Melloni, Architect, specializing in Chinese Feng Shui and Nine Star Ki (Japanese) alongside masters of the discipline from the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and China.
Carlos Vera, M.S. in Nuclear Chemistry, Ghent University, Belgium. Master’s degree in Nuclear Physics, National Institute of Nuclear Research, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Full professor of Technical Physics at the School of Architecture.
Objectives: to reflect on Feng Shui and present perspectives on a philosophy of life that influences interior design.
