The goal of Camino TICs is to help reduce poverty through technical training programs for socially vulnerable youth. In addition, the initiative supports their integration into the educational, social, and labor systems to open the door to opportunities offered by one of the fastest-growing sectors of the national economy: information and communications technology (ICT).
The project implements a support network focused on information, awareness-raising, and personal and professional training for young people in ICTs. The network consists of ORT University, the Rotary Club of Aguada District 4970, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI), and has by the European Union. These institutions are joining forces to provide young people with opportunities for professional and personal development, maximizing their chances of entering the job market.
The program offers full scholarships for young people to pursue one of the following technical careers: Web Developer, Object-Oriented Programmer, Network Installation and Maintenance, Flash Application Design and Animation, and Personal Computer Maintenance.
