Conference: "Architects' Conversations: Points of Agreement and Disagreement" – November 25

On November 25, the Faculty of Architecture hosted the event "Architects' Conversations: Points of Agreement and Disagreement." As part of this event, at 7 p.m., the lecture "Focus on a Professional Experience" was given by Architect Walter Graiño, Chair of Construction Technology and Full Professor of Construction and Site Management at the faculty, and at 8 p.m., the lecture "11:54 p.m." was given by Architects Alejandro Baptista Vedia and Alejandro Baptista Acerenza, project design instructors at the school. Finally, at 9 p.m., the speakers debated different perspectives on architecture, moderated by Argentine architect Gerardo Caballero, professor in charge of the International Graduate Programs offered by Washington University in Barcelona and Buenos Aires.

Walter Graiño serves as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager at the plants of the Uruguayan Portland Cement Company. He is also a Designer and Director of Operations at the Punta del Este Technology Park. He acts as a consultant on construction project management for private companies and international organizations. In 2001, he received the Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Architecture.

The Baptista + Baptista Architects firm is composed of Alejandro Baptista Vedia and Alejandro Baptista Acerenza and undertakes architectural and urban planning projects, actively participating in architectural competitions, where it has been recognized and awarded on numerous occasions, including:

El Arq. Caballero obtuvo el Master in Architecture en Washington University, Estados Unidos. Fue coordinador del área de proyectos de la Secretaría de Planeamiento de la Municipalidad de Rosario. Ha sido Profesor en la Universidad de Palermo, Buenos Aires. Profesor invitado en las Universidades de Arkansas y Kansas. Ha sido Profesor invitado en la <em>Graduate School of Design, Harvard University</em>. Ha sido profesor invitado en el Programa de Magíster de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Ha sido Max Fisher Visiting Professor, Michigan University, Ann Arbor. En 1991 recibió la Medalla de Plata Bienal de Arquitectura Buenos Aires 91 en el International Forum of Young Architects. En 1997 recibió el Young Distinguish Alumni Award de Washington University.
