The aim of this conference, titled“Architecture for Education: Challenges and Opportunities to Connect Educational Intentions with School Spaces,”is to help Uruguayan educators and architects identify a shared agenda regarding physical learning spaces and their connection to teaching practices.
The lecture will be delivered in English (with simultaneous translation) by Dr. Pamela Woolner, whose research focuses particularly on educational settings—including schools, universities, and other learning environments—contributing to the interdisciplinary work that underpins this field.
His work includes studies on the underlying problems in the design of educational environments, as well as analyses of the use and development of space in British schools.
These projects range from reviewing the evidence base on the impact of school facilities on learning, to collaborative work with schools to improve learning environments. This work has allowed Woolner to understand the potential of school facilities to support change and improvement.
