As part of the Project Course—Semester V at the School of Architecture of Universidad ORT Uruguay, two academic events are being organized with the aim of broadening the scope of discussion on contemporary architectural practices.

This second lecture in the “Building from the Site” series will be presented by Brazilian architect Gustavo Utrabo, who will share his reflections on his recent work and on the possibilities of building from the site, understanding architecture as a situated practice that articulates territory, material culture, and forms of collaboration. Drawing on experiences developed in various contexts across Brazil, Utrabo will address design strategies that engage with local resources, construction know-how, and appropriate technologies, exploring how architecture can emerge from collective processes and a careful reading of the social, climatic, and cultural conditions of each site.

The project team is led by the following teachers:

- Architect María José Budelli

- Architect Francisco Díaz

- Architect Andrés Gobba

- Architect Maya Suárez
