Studying in Uruguay

Academic Programmes and Enrolment

As an exchange student, you can take courses from different schools, programs, and levels, as long as the schedules are compatible.

Courses and Programs

All undergraduate courses are offered on a semester basis (16 weeks in length).

Here you can access the course listings for undergraduate programs (including information on class hours, estimated ECTS credits, start dates, and other details):

Class schedules are published just a few days before classes begin, so the university cannot guarantee that course schedules will align across different programs and levels.

The Student Exchange Office can provide you with detailed course descriptions (syllabi) for each course. To do so, please send us an email with the course codes and names of the courses you plan to take at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

  • Core and Elective Courses - International Division

    Required and elective courses

There are courses offered at specific times during the academic year that are required only for students who wish to graduate from Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Other courses are electives, allowing students to choose their classes. Some elective courses are part of the core curriculum in other degree programs, so their availability is guaranteed at a specific time of year. Other electives are determined each semester and confirmed during the week before classes begin.

Exchange students can take a combination of both types of courses (required and elective) and are free to choose between them. We recommend taking no more than five courses.

  • Course Registration at Universidad ORT Uruguay

    Registration

Registration takes place during the two weeks prior to the start of classes through the student self-service system called Gestión

Changes to your course selection can be made up to two weeks after the start of the semester.

Once that period has ended, no changes are permitted.

Courses taught in English

The university offers some courses in English that are available to exchange students who are proficient in the language.
