2016 Teaching Excellence Awards Ceremony

In December 2016, the schools held their annual Teaching Excellence Awards ceremonies. These awards are intended to recognize the quality of instruction provided by faculty members who regularly teach courses, as well as the learning achievements of their students. At each ceremony, the respective dean reviews the year’s achievements and presents the awards to the winning faculty members, who have demonstrated outstanding performance during the year and have an exceptional academic record within the faculty. The university has been presenting these awards since 1995.

List of 2016 Award Winners:

School of Architecture (December 8)
- Award for Teaching Excellence: Architect Facundo de Souza, full professor of Project 1 and 2.
- Special Recognition for Academic Leadership: Dr. Laura Moya, faculty researcher.
- Special Recognition for Leadership in International Outreach: Alejandro Baptista Acerenza, Architect, Full Professor of Projects 3 and 4.


School of Communication and Design (December 12)

- Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Communication: Prof. Daniel Anselmi, instructor of the Music Production Project.
- Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Design: Vicente Lamónaca, B.A., instructor of Art and Aesthetics 2 and Editorial Design 1.


School of Engineering (December 14)

- Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Engineering: Rodrigo Achigar, Ph.D., professor of microbiology.
- Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Technology: Fernando Martínez, B.S. in Engineering, Database instructor, tutor, and project evaluator.
- Distinguished faculty members from the School of Engineering: Alejandro Adorjan, M.Eng., associate academic coordinator of Systems Engineering, for his commitment to teaching and his constant drive for excellence; and Gastón Mousqués, B.A., academic coordinator of Software Factory, for his leadership and innovation in developing new curricula in Software Engineering.
- Faculty members recognized by the School of Technology: Beatriz Icasuriaga, Engineer, and Rafael Ochoviet, Professor, in recognition of their innovative teaching methods in the courses Electrical Installations and Lighting.

School of Management and Social Sciences (December 16)

-Teaching Excellence Award from the Graduate Studies Department: Dr. Norma Pontet, Professor of Management Accounting and Coordinator of Finance Programs.
- Undergraduate Department Award for Teaching Excellence: Oscar Conti, Associate Professor of General Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis.
- Teaching Excellence Award from the Department of Short-Term Programs: Dr. Gonzalo Vidal, professor of business law.
- Research Award: Dr. Nicolás Gambetta, Academic Coordinator of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation.
- Lifetime Achievement and Contribution Award to the School: Dr. Gustavo Rubinsztejn, Academic Coordinator of Marketing.
- 2016 Outstanding Course: General Management and Business Planning.
