“Today we should feel proud and happy to have made it this far,” said Agustina Scandogliero, a graduate of the Master’s in Human Resources Management. “The journey wasn’t easy; we spent many hours studying and working on assignments, but we also spent many hours with great professors and wonderful classmates.”
“Being part of this Master’s program was a great experience of personal transformation and professional. Without a doubt, we are not the same people today as we were three years ago. We have learned and grown, not only in terms of academic content but also through the exchange of experiences and opinions,” added the graduate.
“As leaders in human resources, we have a tremendous opportunity to drive transformation, so that organizations become more human and authentic, foster collaborative work, and enable people to align their purpose with that of the organization. In other words: to make it a place where all voices can be heard and where diversity and inclusion are the norm.”
“I invite you to reflect on and consider just how people-centered our organizations truly are, and to act accordingly,” he said. “In this way, we will not only make an impact our company but also on the entire society.”

“If there’s one thing that unites us, it’s the dedication and effort we put into earning this new degree. We made the decision to continue acquiring new knowledge and new tools, and stay up to date professionally,” said Bernardo Supervielle, a graduate of the Master’s in Taxation and Accounting Standards—IFRS.
“We know that our profession requires us to stay as up-to-date as possible. It is in that spirit that we have taken on this academic challenge. Today we are here to celebrate our achievements,” he added.
Finally, the graduate expressed his gratitude for all the knowledge he had gained. “We are not the same professionals today as we were when we first entered college on the first day of class. We have grown enormously. We are better trained, we have greater self-assurance and confidence, but above all, we can make a greater value to our work.”
Continue to grow

María Elisa Reyes — a graduate of the Master’s in Financial Management— noted that, when embarking on their postgraduate studies, each student chose to pursue the program for different reasons: to gain opportunities, for personal growth and interest, to launch their own business, among others.
He also pointed out that they all had something in common. “We were all eager to continue growing professionally and as people, giving it our all to achieve success.”
“Personally, when I started the master’s program, I wondered if I’d be able to handle it, if the course load would be compatible with work and family life. There were a lot of courses, and they would require hours and hours of study, meetings, classes, and assignments, but with hard work, we were able to do it.”
He also noted that the group of classmates included people from a variety of backgrounds. “There were colleagues with degrees in economics, certified public accountants, and those with degrees in management and administration. This brought diversity to our approach to the course material and allowed us learn from one another.”
Adapt and reinvent oneself

Jorgelina de Cabrera, a graduate of the Master of Business Administration (MBA), said that when she started the program, a professor told them that having an MBA is not the same as being an MBA:
“Being an MBA graduate of Universidad ORT Uruguay embodying the values of this program; it means having the ability to adapt, being flexible in the face of external changes, and making an impact on the people we work with and the organizations we belong to. Being an MBA also means being able to reinvent yourself, being innovative, taking initiative, making mistakes, and starting over.”
“If there’s one thing I’ve taken away from the MBA, it’s the importance of the community that supported us throughout this process: the faculty, the academic coordinators, and the university administration, who were with us every step of the way and who truly made the university feel like home from day one. A home to which we know we will always be connected and that will always welcome us back.”
Building the Future

“ORT has been a space for reflection, action and building. It has been a place to build a different kind of education, one more oriented toward the world, to make dreams come true, contributing to the betterment of society,” said the dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences, Dr. Gaston J. Labadie. “Today’s graduation is one of those days that give particular meaning and purpose to the daily effort of so many years.”
“I hope the university continues to be the space of excellence and transformation that it already is and that it grows as such, that it remains a powerhouse of knowledge, learning and innovation with global standards, which positively impacts our society or the one in which they happen to work,” added Labadie.
“I hope that in this volatile, complex, and uncertain world, both as individuals and as future leaders, you will be able to interpret and make sense of the changes surrounding you, for yourselves and for those who walk alongside you, without losing sight of integrity, ethics, and your values. May you be able to accept the sacrifices that your choices entail, because every choice of one path means leaving another behind. May you do so with courage, determination, and intellectual and emotional engagement, in touch with yourselves, and with awareness and understanding of your own emotions and those of others.”
“They have the age, the knowledge, and the sense of responsibility. It is the younger generation that must take on the challenge of renewal,” the dean concluded. “At ORT, we will continue to be here, constantly evolving and accompanying you on your journey, but do not forget that you are the builders of your future.”
