FIA'23 announced its winners

More than 200 short films were submitted for this edition, and 58 were selected for the official competition. At the local level, the short films *Pedro y Carolina* and *A ras del agua* won awards.

International Animation Festival - 2023 Winners

On September 26, 27, and 28, 2023, a new edition of the International Animation Festival was held, organized by the School of Communication and Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

During those days, there was an international exhibition as part of the O!PLA (Oh! Polish Animation) animation festival; animator Soulier gave a talk titled “Illustration for the‘Let’s Take Care of the Planet’Collection; and three workshops were held for high school students:

  • Introduction to Video Game Development, by Joaquín Guelfi;
  • Designing a Character, by Victoria Barreiro;
  • Concept Art, by Gerardo Kononovas.

Salvadoran artist Simón Varela led two workshops for animation students (“Introduction to Concept Art” and “Advanced Concept Art”) and gave a lecturetitled “Production Design: Shaping the Director’s Vision.”

The festival featured 200 short films from more than 40 countries. The festival's official selection consisted of 58 short films.
