"24 Hours for Respecting Diversity" Creative Contest

On August 31 and September 1, 2012, the “24-Hour” creative competition, organized by the School of Communication and Design, took place at the Torre de los Profesionales. On this occasion, the objective was to create a campaign titled “For Respect for Diversity.” This contest was held at the request of the Honorary Commission against Racism, Xenophobia, and All Forms of Discrimination of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The winning campaign will be disseminated through print, audiovisual, and static advertising media.

Five teams participated, composed of students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a concentration in Advertising, the Advertising Analyst program, and the Graphic Design program, who worked alongside their leaders for 24 hours to achieve the proposed goal. The leaders were Massimiliano di Murro (White Team), a graduate of the Graphic Design Technician program and instructor in the Bachelor’s in Communication with a focus on Advertising; Manuel Amorín (Red Team), a graduate of the Advertising Analyst program and professor in the bachelor’s program; María Eugenia Ameneiros (Blue Team), Samuel Liberman (Green Team), and Juan Teba (Orange Team), students in the bachelor’s program.

Marcelo Alfonzo, Director of Universia Uruguay; Dr. Alicia Esquivel, Member of the Honorary Commission against Racism, Xenophobia, and All Other Forms of Discrimination; Miguel Olivencia, Director of Advertising Communications; and Montserrat Ramos, Professor of Advertising at the school, made up the jury that selected the white team as the winner. The team created a multimedia campaign aimed at combating all forms of discrimination. This team consisted of Martin Biurrun, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a concentration in Advertising, and Lucía Apa, Florencia Fabini, Franca Idiarte, Noelia Matkovich, and Alex Zavala, students in the Advertising Analyst program.
