4th Equipment Seminar and Exhibition

October 4, 2010
On October 4, the 4th Seminar on Furnishings began at the School of Architecture, as part of the curriculum for Studio 2 in the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Guest lecturers include architect Roberto Moraes and designers Flavio Morán and Lourdes Bentancor. The seminar consists of a studio project and complementary lectures.

Architect Moraes is a managing partner at KGM Architecture and Design, Spain, and at the construction firm Enki. He is also the director of the Kimelman–Moraes architecture firm.

Designer Morán is a partner at the Odemas studio. He teaches in the Interior Design degree program.

Designer Bentancor is a Professor of Technology in the School of Architecture. She was Vice President of the Association of Professional Interior Decorators and Designers.

As part of the seminar, an exhibition of student work will take place from October 18 to 29 at ORT Pocitos (Bvar. España 2633).

This annual activity represents an in-depth exploration of furnishings as a defining element of interior architectural space.

This seminar aims to define the scope of study, for which various locations within the faculty were selected to interact with furnishings that address both functional and symbolic aspects. The final products are full-scale models constructed using OSB building material. The activity was supported by Barraca Paraná, which donated 25 OSB panels, and the Lipatín carpentry shop, which assisted with cutting the material.

The exhibition is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
