ORT and Levi's Students: 501® Day

April 26, 2019
The Levi's 501 jeans are turning 146, and the brand is celebrating with 501® Day by inviting students in the Fashion Design program to participate in the event.

“It’s very important to us that each person makes the garment their own, that every piece is unique and different,” said Mathias Maghini, a member of Levi’s Uruguay.

“We’re all partners—that’s our philosophy.” That’s why our approach is “to make it one, to make it personal.”

Students in the Bachelor of Fashion Design program can now sign up for the workshops taking place in May.

The workshops will be led by artists specializing in embroidery, screen printing, and painting.

This time, we won’t be working on a 501, as that would take longer than the time allotted for each workshop; we decided to work on a pocket, a Levi’s classic.

Later, on Saturday, May 20, there will be an exhibition featuring all the works by the aspiring designers on the 501 pocket, as well as the artists' work.
