Sixth Uruguay Tax Conference

On February 23, 2018, the Academic Coordination Committee of the Master’s Program in Taxation and Accounting Standards—IFRS and the Specialization Diploma in Taxation organized the 6th Uruguay Tax Conference, featuring renowned national and international experts. The central theme of this edition was “Tax Planning and Compliance in a Dynamic International Context.” The event took place in the conference room of the Barradas Parque Hotel in Punta del Este.

The event was sponsored by SMS Latinoamérica and PwC Uruguay, professional firms that provide tax, audit, accounting, economic, and financial services.

The following speakers participated: Adriana Piano, CPA, Professor in the Taxation Department at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina); Roberto Bernales, Ph.D., Professor of Tax Law at the University of Deusto (Spain) and visiting professor in the tax graduate programs at Universidad ORT Uruguay; Pierina de León, Manager of the Legal and Tax Department at PwC Uruguay and instructor in the postgraduate tax programs at Universidad ORT Uruguay; Nicolás May and Federico Otegui, instructors in the postgraduate tax programs at Universidad ORT Uruguay; Eliana Sartori, Eliana Sartori, director of the Legal and Tax Department at PwC Uruguay and instructor in the university’s postgraduate tax programs; and Félix Abadi, professor of Taxation and partner at SMS Uruguay and the Rueda Abadi Pereira law firm.
