Marina Melani holds aBachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from ORT, and since 2014 she has been teaching “Entrepreneurship 1 and 2” in the School of Architecture, and “Entrepreneurship and Society” in the School of Business and Social Sciences. Although the approaches in the three courses differ due to the nature of the programs, they all emphasize the same key aspect: teamwork and leadership in conflict resolution play a fundamental role.
What's more, Melani has been playing soccer for over a decade. She currently plays for Club Seminario in Division B of the women's soccer league organized by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).
In addition, between the second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016, while pursuing a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship at Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom, she continued to play sports by joining the Comberton Ladies Football Club, a team affiliated with the Cambridgeshire Football Association, which is part of the Football Association (FA), the English counterpart of the AUF.
Drawing on her experience in entrepreneurship and Uruguay’s most popular sport, Melani explains in this video the connection between soccer leaders and those seeking to launch their own business ventures, while describing how she applies those experiences to the courses she teaches at ORT.
