An international track record and an innovative approach

Having studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Stanford University, and UC Irvine—all three institutions in the United States—Guillermina Pose Díaz has built a broad and multifaceted career.

He currently works as a Senior Technical Product Managerat 429 Technologies / DoSpace, in addition to writing as a freelancer

From Poetry to Essays

Her first book, *Laberintos de carne / Flesh Maze* (2019), published by Yaugurú, was a bilingual poetry collection that introduced her to the Uruguayan poetry scene and led her to events such as the 2020 and 2021 World Poetry Championships

However, over time, Guillermina came to feel more drawn to the essay form, and her recent publication marks a new direction in her writing career.

“It was a four-year transformation,” he says of the process of creating this essay.

On Questions Regarding the Dialogue of Love

Reflections on the Language of LoveThis essay represents his first foray into the genre and, as she herself describes it, she seeks to “ignite the fire of doubt and questioning,” encouraging reflection about the romantic conversation and its impact on our relationships.

His critical approach was strengthened in courses such as Communication Theories, where he developed an analytical perspective, informed by a rich body of literature and the critical thinking instilled in him during his college years.

Mentors Who Left Their Mark

Pose highlights the role of his professors at Universidad ORT Uruguay in Universidad ORT Uruguay, particularly Marisol Álvarez and Gerardo Ciancio, who were instrumental in his theoretical training.

Marisol encouraged me to focus on writing essays; her guidance was instrumental in my development as a writer.

He also mentions Ana Solari, who taught him the importance of conciseness in writing.

An essay that raises questions, not answers

Unlike other approaches, *Interpellations on the Language of Love* does not offer definitive answers, but rather invites readers to explore profound questions about the language of love.

“I’m not looking for answers; it’s about creating space to question and redefine concepts,” he explains.

His presentation at the Montevideo International Book Fair generated significant interest among the public.

Inspiration and advice for aspiring journalists

For Guillermina, journalism is a key tool in developing critical thinking.

“My advice is to be critical and not to accept knowledge that’s already been chewed over,” he emphasizes.

His studies at the School of Communication allowed him to develop an analytical approach that informs each of his works

New projects on the way

Pose is currently working on a new project that will expand on the questions raised in his latest essay, further exploring the complex web of human relationships.
