The agreement enables the development of a new division within the CIE, that is, it allows for the provision of specialized services for entrepreneurs in the field of blockchain.
According to Enrique Topolansky, MBA, coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universidad ORT Uruguay, Aeternity is a leading multinational company in the field of blockchain. Through this partnership, the CIE will be able to incubate and launch projects in this field on a global scale.
“We’re going to organize events to raise awareness about what blockchain is, its potential, and how it’s changing business models; then we’ll hold meetups so people can learn more about this technology,” said Topolansky.
Subsequently, the CIE will hold idea competitions and incubate the most promising projects. The goal is to use the center’s resources to validate the best projects, launch them, and secure funding so they can reach the global market through its global incubator, which is now available to all entrepreneurs at the CIE thanks to this agreement.
ORT's CIE already has experience in this field through its multipurpose incubator. This incubator focuses on various areas, such as biotechnology—through the CIE BIO Incubator—where it offers a specialized track with specific capabilities for startups in that field.
