The next MBA networking dinner is coming up

The 11th annual dinner for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Universidad ORT Uruguay take place on Thursday, October 31, at the Golf Club.

On Thursday, October 31, 2019, the 11th annual MBA Dinner hosted by Universidad ORT Uruguay will take place at the Golf Club. This is the largest networking and awards dinner organized by the School of Graduate Business Studies.

The event will once again bring together, in a relaxed and networking-oriented setting, leaders from major local and multinational companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and government representatives who have earned their MBAs at ORT.

Event attendees will enjoy an exclusive catering service provided by the Golf Club, led by renowned culinary experts Sebastián and Roberto Barcos, who will treat them to delicious dishes and desserts.

This year, the following organizations will also be participating in the event: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dazzler, Dewar’s, EY, Fábricas Nacionales de Cerveza (FNC), Martini, and Via Sono, all of which support the Graduate School.

Those interested in attending the dinner, which will take place on Thursday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. at the Golf Club, and who have completed their MBA at ORT, may contact the MBA Alumni Office for more information.

Notable Alumni

Year after year, as part of the ongoing effort to improve management quality in Uruguay, the most outstanding members of the community are recognized. Candidates are nominated by the community and stakeholders associated with the MBA program, and the final decision is made by the members of the MBA Advisory Board.

This time, the distinguished alumni are:

Alfonso Blanco Bonilla, MBA ’05, Executive Secretary of OLADE. A regional expert in the energy sector with over 20 years of experience in oil and gas infrastructure projects, energy efficiency programs, initiatives to integrate renewable energy, international consulting, and advising governments on sectoral policies.

Gonzalo Cuiñas, MBA ’10, Chief Operating Officer at Overactive. Recognized for his leadership role at a rapidly growing company has than 25 offices around the world: Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, and, since 2010, Uruguay.

Gabriel Gorondona, MBA ’01, CEO of COPAC. A certified public accountant by profession, he has been involved with cooperative social welfare organizations for 20 years. For the past 10 years, he has held management positions, leading teams in rebranding initiatives and business model transformations.

In addition, at the Annual Dinner, one of them will receive an award from the alumni community, based on a vote by the alumni.

About the Graduate School of Business at Universidad ORT Uruguay

The courses offered by the Graduate School of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences develop and enhance students' professional skills, with the aim of training leaders capable of taking initiative both within and outside their organizations.

For more than two decades, the school has been ranked among the best in Latin America, according to the América Economía ranking. It is also the only institution in the country to be rated as an "Excellent Business School" by Eduniversal.

The MBA program is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), a distinction held by only 6% of MBA programs worldwide. It is the first institution in Uruguay to be accepted as a full member of the Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA).

Teaching methodologies include lectures with student participation, fieldwork—both individual and in teams—case analysis and discussion, and bibliographic research, among others.
