This tribute was organized by Universidad ORT Uruguay, the Higher Institute of Physical Education (I.S.E.F.), and the Jean Piaget Institute.
Speakers at the event included Prof. Zózima Gonzalez, principal of the Jean Piaget High School; Prof. Raumar Rodríguez, representing the I.S.E.F.; Ms. Irma Menéndez, representing the Teachers’ Association; Ms. María del Carmen Rodríguez, vice principal of the Teacher Training College; and Ms. Ana Olmedo, representing Universidad ORT Uruguay.
During this moving ceremony, each speaker highlighted different aspects of Dr. Lorenzo ’s personality and the wide range of activities he undertook throughout his professional career.
Dr. Enrique Lorenzo, who served as academic secretary of the Universidad ORT Uruguay Institute of Education from 1998 until his passing, has left this world, but he will not be forgotten for his contributions and work in the national and international educational spheres.
In December 2001, he received the Rector Special Award Rector his work as head of the ORT Institute of Education, during the Teaching Excellence Awards ceremony held annually by Universidad ORT Uruguay.
