The video submitted to the "Genias de las Ciencias " contest by SchoolNo. 153 Manuel Oribe in Parque del Plata—which tells the story of Dr. Inés Friss de Kereki, a professor of Computer Science in the School of Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay, from the students' perspective—won first place in the competition.
The goal of this second edition of the competition, organized by Antel, was for students to research and learn about outstanding women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
As part of efforts to popularize science and promote gender equality, this contest aimed to highlight women scientists in STEM fields and to introduce children to these disciplines. It also sought to promote new tools for disseminating knowledge and to foster interest, creativity, and teamwork.
