On August 17, a welcome event was held at the Pocitos campus for exchange students who arrived at the university to study this semester. Miriam Kemna, the Student Exchange Coordinator, was in charge of organizing the event.
A total of 59 students from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, France, Mexico, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic are enrolled in the semester that began on August 20, 2018, at the university.
They come from OWL University of Applied Sciences, Paderborn University, Universidad de San Andrés, ICHEC Brussels Management School, Universidade Belas Artes São Paulo, Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, University of Seville, University of the Basque Country, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Audencia Business School, École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Clermont-Ferrand, NEOMA Business School, Sciences Po, Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, University of Kent, University of Manchester, and Tomas Bata University.
During the welcome session, they received information about sports, the Padrinos program, the Colibrí volunteer project, and Montevideo International Students, a nongovernmental organization created with the aim of promoting Uruguayan culture and fostering connections among foreigners in our country.
The event concluded with a toast, during which the visitors had the opportunity to share their initial impressions with local students.
