The event will take place at the School of Architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City from March 19 to 21, 2024.
On Wednesday, March 20, Architect Lockhart will serve as moderator at:
- Panel 5: “Appropriation, Growth, Adaptation II.”
- Panel 6: “Local and/or repeatable.”
In addition, the conference will host a meeting of the Ibero-American Network for Sustainable Social Housing (REDIVISS), as part of a research project led by the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Community of Madrid. Universidad ORT Uruguay participating in this project through two representatives— Guillermo Lockhart and Mariángeles Longo—along with eight other Ibero-American universities.
The conference's thematic areas include:
- Affordable housing in historic districts.
- Affordable housing in established neighborhoods and outlying areas.
- Transformation and regeneration of informal settlements.
- Affordable housing in historic buildings that were previously used for non-residential purposes.
- The transformation of historical models, forms, types, and concepts.
- Processes of appropriation and transformation of 20th-century social housing buildings, complexes, and neighborhoods.
- The relationship between architectural practices, land policies, and regulatory frameworks.
Architect Guillermo Lockhart’s participation in this prominent international event underscores the commitment of the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay research and development in the field of sustainable social housing.
