The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs ( AWE) aims to provide you with the tools you need to start and grow your business, secure funding, and join a global community of business owners.
Throughout the course, participants will access the DreamBuilder platform to receive training and develop a business plan for their startup. Each week, they will participate in online meetings with CIE mentors to delve deeper into the concepts covered, ask questions, and become part of the AWE community.
DreamBuilder is an online platform where participants have access to a series of 12 business courses.
The courses included in the program cover the fundamental concepts needed to start a business, as well as relevant topics such as business models, marketing, finance, accounting, and financing.
For this second edition, we are inviting women entrepreneurs from across the country to participate—those whose businesses are in the early stages and who are looking to establish and grow them. Throughout the course, we will provide you with the tools and knowledge needed to develop your own business plan.
At the end of the course, participants who have completed the program, submitted a business plan, and prepared a pitch for their startup will be eligible to participate in a competition, in which a panel of experts will select three winners, who will share a prize totaling $9,000 provided by the U.S. Embassy and the opportunity to receive support from CIE mentors for six months to help grow their business.
Who is eligible to apply? Any Uruguayan woman who has a startup in its early stages and wants to acquire the tools to develop it or validate it in the market.
What are the program dates and schedule? The program begins on May 26 and ends on August 18. Weekly sessions will be held online (via Zoom) on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
What do I need to enroll in the program? Applicants must have access to a computer with an internet connection. A weekly time commitment of three to four hours is required, along with a commitment to participate in at least 70% of the weekly meetings with the AWE community, which will be held on Thursdays throughout the course. We do not recommend using a cell phone connection, as navigating the DreamBuilder course platform can be very difficult.
