Activities in Celebration of Girls in ICT Day

On April 27, 2023, as part of Girls in ICT Day, the School of Engineering offered several workshops for middle school girls.

Robotics Workshop and Arduino Workshop, led by Mariana Derderian, M.A., associate academic coordinator of the Electronics, Telecommunications, and Electrical Engineering program, along with Pilar Busquets (an Electronics Engineering student).

The activities were attended by 15fourth-year students from Hans Christian Andersen School and 10 girls from St. Brendan’s School in the same grade, respectively.

Cecilia Belletti, M.A., academic coordinator of the Systems Engineering program, welcomed the participants and, together with Derderian, explained the significance of the day and its purpose.

Programming Workshop “Learn to Code with App Inventor,” led by Dr. Inés Kereki, professor of programming, and Nicolás Dotti, a student in the Bachelor’s program in Computer Science. The workshop was attended by 19 students from the British School and Richard Anderson School, intheir5th and4th years, respectively.

Workshop titled “Experimenting in Biotechnology,” led by Mariana Ferrari, M.A., professor and associate academic coordinator of the Biotechnology program, and Dr. Mariana Umpiérrez, professor and associate coordinator of the Biotechnology Laboratory. Twelve12th-grade students from Hans Christian Andersen High School participated.
