Tizkka—an app that offers fashion and style advice and is endorsed by well-known influencers and trendsetters—was named by the tech company as one of the five apps in the “Best Everyday Helpers” category of the year. Other award categories included App of the Year, Most Entertaining Apps, Best Social Apps, Most Innovative Apps, and Best Apps for Kids.
“Tizkka,” its creators told El País, means “fashion” in Icelandic. However, the app’s content isn’t available in Icelandic, as it’s only offered in Spanish, English, and Portuguese for both Android and iOS. It has been downloaded more than 1.2 million times across both platforms.
The app originated in Brazil, initially under a different name (Roupología), and later adopted its current name, under which it has expanded to more than 100 countries. Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina account for the largest number of users, who can also “view clothing items and purchase them on the websites they are referred to,” according to El País.
According to what Roizner told the newspaper, Tizkka has around 150,000 followers on Instagram, more than 680,000 on Facebook, and “has added a web version that allows users to access articles on beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, just like a real blog.”
