Collaborative Learning: Second Cohort of Students in the Diploma in Educational Planning and Management as Part of the Deep Learning Initiative

March 25, 2020
Forty-eight school principals from across the country, representing the four subsystems of the National Public Education Administration, are currently enrolled in the Diploma in Educational Planning and Management at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The fact is that in May 2018, the Institute of Education won a contract through the Ceibal Plan to develop the graduate program, in collaboration with the Global Learning Network.

This is a one-year blended-learning program that prepares graduates to design, propose, and implement organizational assessments and improvement plans.

In February and March 2020, two of the in-person sessions took place as part of the final course in the graduate program: Innovation Project. During these sessions, the entire group gathered, and the students were then divided into five subgroups, each coordinated by the course instructors.

The Innovation Project's educational program covers the entire research cycle, based on work with real-world research cases.

Based on the evidence at their disposal, students conduct an institutional assessment. At the same time, they identify participatory improvement strategies aimed at addressing the identified issues and strengthening the organization’s capacity for planning and innovation.

This course encourages discussion among both faculty and students, as well as the sharing of innovative ideas and tools for improving institutional structures and management processes.
