Dovat Architects: Innovation and Expertise in Wood Architecture
Since its founding, Dovat Arquitectos has evolved significantly. Although the firm initially focused on more traditional practices, over time it identified a significant opportunity in wood architecture: mass timber.

This specialization refers to a type of construction and building material that uses large laminated wood panels laminated in layers to create structural elements, with the panels consisting of several layers of wood bonded together using adhesives or mechanical fasteners.
The result is a strong and durable material that can even be used in the construction of multi-story buildings. By focusing their efforts on this approach—which, according to Dovat, has the potential to rival traditional architecture—they were able not only to stand out in the local market but also to become true pioneers and agents of change in the construction industry.

A significant milestone in its history was the construction of the Casa CLT San Nicolás, which won the National Energy Efficiency Award in 2023.
This landmark project exemplifies how wood architecture can achieve completely safe, highly efficient, and environmentally friendly buildings with a 100% wood structure, marking a substantial difference from traditional methods of wood construction.
