There, as part of the exhibition “Sexual Dreams and Fantasies,” architect Mígues presents a composite photograph that, with a subtle and intelligent approach, explores libidinality within counter-hegemonic corporeality: the experience of pleasure in bodies that transcend the limitations characteristic of the imposition of any canon.
In other words, that genuine physicality which, although it does not usually take center stage on screen, rediscovers itself through the gaze of the other—and the resulting sense of identification—as it is set free before the camera’s lens and reaffirmed in the eyes of the gallery visitor.

Avoiding vulgarity and incorporating elements of collage into a subtle, distinctive approach, Mígues worked with models from a position of anonymity, humanizing that physical reality —which is the body—by capturing small features and details that convey the authenticity of its nature.

The exhibition opened on January 5 and will run through January 31 at Port Gallery in Barcelona, a city that has established itself as a globally renowned hub for the character and genius of its artists, steeped in tradition and a passion for art in all its forms.

In addition, this exhibition—which received outstanding critical acclaim—serves as a prelude to the Arco Madrid contemporary art fair for the Gaudí Gallery in the Spanish capital, where the artist will present two additional works as part of a prestigious group exhibition in the legendary gallery’s main hall.
Back in Uruguay from September 4 to 25, Mígues will also be presenting “Small Expressions About a Dialogue That Never Existed,” displaying some of his works in the Faculty Hall.
