On Friday, November 25, Dr. Andrés Ferragut—associate professor of networks and researcher with the Applied Mathematics, Telecommunications, and Energy Group (MATE)—participated in the Second International Forum on Electric Mobility at the invitation of the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining (MIEM), through its National Energy Directorate (DNE) and the Automobile Club of Uruguay (ACU).
He participated in the “Research and Sustainable Mobility” segment alongside Dr. Erika Teliz (Udelar) and R. Washington (Extreme E). The session was moderated by Antonella Tambasco (MIEM).
His presentation focused on smart management of electric vehicle charging, a topic he has been working on with the MATE research group since 2016.
The goal was to discuss and promote Uruguay’s transition to electric vehicles in the short and medium term: what challenges need to be addressed and what capabilities and incentives need to be developed.
The event was attended by national and international officials and experts, who provided firsthand insights into the latest developments in electric mobility and offered a forum for dialogue and exchange regarding future challenges. It took place at the Fendi Château in Punta del Este.
