The course will be taught by professors from McGill University in Canada:

  • Prof. Dan Nicolau, chair of the Department of Bioengineering and professor in the Department of Engineering, an expert in nanotechnology and analytical technologies for biosensing.
  • Dr. Subhasis Ghosal, associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and an expert in geo-environmental engineering.
  • Dr. Mustafa Kumral, associate professor in the Department of Mining Engineering and an expert in risk management in mining areas.

This activity is coordinated by Dr. Lorena Betancor of our university’s Department of Biotechnology and funded by ANII-IDRC through the Center for Innovation in Engineering (CII) and Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The course will be taught in English at the Universidad ORT Uruguay Downtown Campus Universidad ORT Uruguay Room A13) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It will provide the audience with insights into the extractive and environmental industries, ranging from fundamental processes to established methodologies and emerging technologies.
