As part of the Biobusiness course, students in the Engineering and Biotechnology programs presented potential business models.
Three teams presented their products to a panel of judges consisting of the course instructors, Dr. Luis Silva and Martín Canabal, and Enrique Topolansky, coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The team consisting of Tatiana de León, Sofía Irastorza, and Verónica Szpinak presented a product for people with celiac disease.
Sabrina Germán, Galadriel Velázquez, and Virginia Machado then presented a product designed to improve the quality of Tanat wines.
The closing session was led by a team consisting of Magdalena Curtti, Lizouli Millan, Nicolás Nieto, and Santiago Risi, who presented on the development of an intimate soap using a biotechnological formulation.
During the presentation, they were required to explain:
- What was the product? Define it and distinguish it from the competition.
- Sales channels
- Prospective customers
- Strategic partnerships
- Product Communication and Advertising
- Distribution
- What would be the initial investment?
- And at what point would they start turning a profit?
