New promotion: Cabrera Borges is now Level I in the SNI

Dr. Claudia Cabrera Borges, a professor and advisor at the ORT Institute of Education, has been promoted to Level I of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

As a result of the latest call for applications issued by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), and pursuant to a resolution dated May 2024, Dr. Claudia Cabrera Borges was promoted to Level I in the Social Sciences category, Education Sciences subcategory, of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

As explained on its website, this initiative aims to promote “the classification and financial incentives for researchers, the generation of knowledge across all fields, and the strengthening and expansion of the national scientific community.” 

Cabrera Borges holds a Ph.D. in Education and a Master’s degree in Education from Universidad ORT Uruguay. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and is a biology teacher who graduated from the Florida Teacher Training Institute. She has a diploma in Teaching with Digital Technologies from the Council for Education Training, Ceibal, and the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).

Currently, in addition to being a faculty member at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, he teaches biology and biology pedagogy at the Regional Teachers’ Center. He is also a member of the Educational Research Group (GIF), which is part of the ALICIA Network (Alliance for Collaboration in Research and Learning).
