As part of International Knowledge Day, celebrated on September 28, the Center for Archives and Access to Public Information (CAINFO) recognized the work of Merlina Machado, Maia Berg, and Clara Ribeiro,journalism students at the university.
These students conducted an investigative journalism project based on requests for access to public information, pursuant to Law 18,381.
The study, which was conducted as part of the course taught by Nausicaa Palomeque, examined in detail how cultural funds are managed.
According to the CAINFO website, Knowledge Day began to be celebrated in 2003, spearheaded by advocates for access to information around the world, with the aim of highlighting the importance of the right of access to public information as an essential element of democratic life.
