Professor to Represent Uruguay at a United Nations Meeting in Geneva

A professor of biotechnology will represent Uruguay in Geneva at a United Nations meeting to develop a handbook on green and sustainable chemistry.

Dr. Lorena Betancor, professor of Protein Technology in the School of Engineering, was appointed by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) as Uruguay’s representative to attend a meeting in Geneva aimed at preparing a United Nations manual on Green and Sustainable Chemistry.

The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Division on December 5 and 6, 2019.
