The Center for Australian Studies is co-organizing a training program for women entrepreneurs from Australia and Latin America

With the aim of providing training and connecting women in Australia, Chile, and Uruguay who are interested in incorporating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their businesses, Deakin University (Australia), the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile, and the Center for Australian Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay a program for women entrepreneurs.

This project will foster collaborative partnerships among nations to ensure that participants remain at the forefront of identifying, creating, and advancing opportunities to achieve the SDGs. These partnerships will also help strengthen existing economic ties and provide policy recommendations to improve bilateral relations and future initiatives for women entrepreneurs.

To advance these goals, the program received funding from the Australian Council for Latin American Relations (COALAR-DFAT) of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The training will include interactive online workshops, expert speakers, mentoring sessions, and networking opportunities. It will cover topics such as intercultural teamwork skills, entrepreneurship for sustainable development, sustainable innovation, strategies for gaining a competitive edge, green markets, and funding opportunities.

Schedule and Application

The first series of online workshops will take place from May 2 to 5, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Uruguayan time), with a second series scheduled for August 2022.

The workshops will be held online, with the exception of a few activities that Uruguayan participants will be able to attend in person; these will take place at the Pocitos campus of Universidad ORT Uruguay. All materials will be available in Spanish, and speakers’ presentations will be simultaneously translated into Spanish when delivered in English.
