The workshop was led by two foreign comic book artists, José Carlos Fernandes from Portugal and Sixto Valencia from Mexico.
José Carlos Fernandes is a renowned contemporary comic book artist. He has been published in *Métal Hurtant*, *Panacea*, *Níquel Náusea*, and *Trama*, and is also the author of dozens of books that have won awards at festivals and been sought after by major European publishers.
His most popular work in Europe is *The Worst Band in the World*, a series of books that established him as one of the greats of the ninth art.
Sixto Valencia is one of his country's greatest comic book artists. He served as art director for Mad magazine. He is the creator of Memín Pingüín, a prominent character in Mexican comics, which is still being reprinted today and once sold 800,000 copies a week.
His works range from Westerns to classic stories and historical and educational comics for undocumented immigrants.
It has broken many sales records, such as the one set by the biography of former President Vicente Fox, which sold 10 million copies.
