“The uncertainty surrounding results is one of the biggest challenges facing innovation,” the authors stated.

“The uncertainty of outcomes is one of the greatest challenges facing innovation,” said Dr. Eduardo Rodríguez Zidán—assistant academic coordinator for graduate programs at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguayand Dr. Silvia Umpiérrez—graduate program advisor at the Institute of Education.

According to the article“Contributions to the Design of a Tool for Monitoring and Evaluating Innovative Experiences,it is risky to “invest in materials and physical spaces for innovative experiences that may not necessarily endure or prove successful.”

Therefore, tracking experiences, engaging in strategic planning, exercising restraint in initial investments, and exercising caution when evaluating proposals to support were among the suggestions they offered when it comes to implementing innovation.

The aim of the publication was “to identify the obstacles and facilitating factors involved in the development of innovative experiences, through an analysis of those experiences and the communities that develop them, as well as the tensions that arise,” within the context of initial teacher training in the experimental sciences. The authors employed a mixed-methods approach, incorporating case studies and multivariate analysis.
