Competitive Strategic Simulation: Making Decisions in a Real-World Context to Lead with Discernment

April 16, 2026
The course "Competitive Strategic Simulation" offers an immersive experience in which students navigate a dynamic environment that replicates the logic of real markets. Beyond strategy design, the focus is on execution: staying the course, interpreting the context, and making quick adjustments when conditions change.

Throughout the simulation, students in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program must make integrated decisions under pressure, assessing the impact of each move in a competitive environment. This process tests not only their analytical skills but also their ability to adapt and their judgment in responding to unexpected outcomes.

One of the student groups clearly summed up one of the key takeaways from this year’s event:

A strategy isn't measured by the iterations that go well, but by the ability to correct and adapt when things go wrong.

The academic program aims to do just that: train leaders capable of making informed decisions in uncertain situations, where planning is important, but the ability to respond effectively is crucial.

The course was led by professors Luis Silva and Miguel Rossi, and featured guest alumni who took on the role of company executives, offering practical insights based on their professional experience: Ana Rovetta, Federico García Lagos, and Darío Leiserovic.
