May 27, 2016
On May 12, 2016, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted a lecture titled “Career Derailers: Risks and Key Skills for Today’s Leaders,” presented by consultant Mariana Gattoni, who is certified in coaching by Korn Ferry International.

The speaker encouraged attendees to increase their self-awareness as a starting point for counteracting behaviors that negatively impact their careers. She also outlined the key skills that today’s leaders must develop.

The speaker reflected on how to identify behaviors that negatively impact our careers. How can we change them when we have been rewarded for those very habits in the past? Why do executives derail their own careers? Competencies or strengths taken to extremes can become career derailers.

Gattoni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Salvador, Argentina. She earned a postgraduate degree in Strategic Human Resources Management from the University of Belgrano and Torcuato Di Tella University, Argentina. She is an independent consultant. She was a senior consultant at Leadership and Talent Consulting at Korn Ferry International, Argentina.

The event was aimed at students, faculty, and university graduates.
